Unless you are satisfied with raw
footage (and you shouldn't be) the heart of video production is your editing
suite -- typically a video editing program that runs on your PC. What do
they do? Basically, four things: -- Copy (capture) your video from DV tape to your PC's hard disk -- allow you to Edit/enhance the video on your PC -- Make (render) a final version to an appropriate file format -- Make a DVD or CD or DV tape of your final version for distribution Current versions of both Microsoft Windows and the Macintosh operating system come with a free video editing program. But both are rather mickey mouse, meant for kids and absolute beginners. Once you outgrow these, it is time to move upscale. Once again you get to choose between
low-cost consumer products, such as Pinnacle
Studio, VideoWave
or Adobe Premiere Elements, and higher-cost "prosumers" products,
such as Adobe
Premiere, Current consumer products |
