Notes: Alexander and his young family came to Simcoe in the early 1870s, as Grand Trunk Railroad Station Master. He was a prominent citizen in Simcoe for decades. Alexander immigrated to Canada in 1857; Margaret  immigrated in 1853. Alexander was a brother of John L. Ferguson of Buffalo, N.Y. Alexander's father died at John's home in 1884. Margaret's obituary lists her middle name as Leside; her cemetery stone spells it Reside; both spellings appear elsewhere in the historical record.
