Notes: William's father founded Simcoe's British Canadian newspaper on 18 Jan 1861. William assumed ownership and editorship when his father died in 1887 and ran it for 30 years until the Canadian was amalgamated with the Simcoe Reformer in Aug 1926.  William also ran a job printing plant and a stationery store. He belonged to Norfolk Golf and Country Club, Simcoe Curling Club and Trinity Anglican Church. William and Nina married at her father's home.
