Notes: "Personally known to almost everone in this county, according to his Simcoe Reformer obituary, Charles operated a grocery store on Peel Street in Simcoe for three years before illness forced him to retire. "Looking at our young men of to-day we can think of no one who was more universally and highly respected than Mr. Jackson. Always gentlemanly in his deportment, courteous in his manner, kind and charitable in his conduct, upright and honorable in all his dealings, he justly earned the high esteem in which he was held by all of his acquaintances. Modest and retiring in his disposition..."
