The Workshp CD contains genealogy programs you can install on your Windows 95 or later PC. Specifics about each program appear below. Be sure to read them before attempting to install any of the programs. How-to-install instructions follow the program list.
 
Recommended: Read the program reviews in Software to decide which programs you want to install.

Ancestral Quest 2002
File Name: aq2002BasicBuild14.exe
This demo accepts up to 120 individuals. Some advanced features disabled.

Family Origins
File Name: fo8demo.exe
Full working version of Family Origins version 8.
Time Limited: only works for 15 days. 

Family Tree Legends
File Name: legends_setup.exe
A 30-day demo. Quits working after 30 days' use.

Legacy 4.0
File Name: legacy40.exe
Not a demo. The free program. Legacy Standard Edition. You may need nothing more. Or you may move up to the Deluxe Edition. It is your call.

PAF 5.0
File Name: PAF5EnglishSetup.exe
Not a demo. The free program. If you like it, check out the accessory programs on our Software Links page. 

RootsMagic 
File Name: rmdemo.exe
Demo limited to 50 people, but will import larger GEDCOM files. Disabled features: spell checking, website creation, GEDCOM export, backup, drag and drop, printing to RTF or PDF files, Mormon TempleReady features.

The Master Genealogist
File Name: tmgdemo.zip
This not a demo. It is a slide show promoting TMG. You must first install WinZip (below) then use WinZip to extract the files in tmgdemo.zip.

GEDHTree version 2.20
File Name: ght220.exe
Not a genealogy program. A utility for genealogy programs. Turns your GEDCOM file into HTML files for the Internet.

WinZip version 8.1
File Name: winzip81.exe
A popular general purpose file compression and decompression utility, it both creates and unzips ZIP files. (ZIP files may include multiple files.)


How to Install EXE files

1. Place the CD in your CD-ROM drive

2. Click on Windows' Start button (lower left on screen)

3. Click on Run

4. From Run box, click on Browse (lower right in box)

5. Change "Look at:" to your CD-ROM or click on My Computer then select your CD-ROM drive.

6. In the Browse box Select your CD-ROM drive, then click on Open. (Windows will display the CD's contents)

7. Click on the filename.exe you want to install. The filename.exe will appear in the File Name field. 

8. Click Open. The Browse box will close, and insert filename.exe in the Run box.

9. Click the OK button in the Run box to run this self-extracting file, which will install your program choice on your hard disk. Follow any instructions that appear on the screen during the install.
