Bannister -- Private Samuel Bannister (photo), a son of Robert Bannister, who formerly lived close to Teeterville in Windham Township, and now resides near Port Dover. Samuel and his two brothers were in business together in the West, when he came home to enlist. Now comes word he will not return. His name has to be added in the ever-lengthening roll of Norfolk's sons who have given their lives to the great cause. "Killed in Action" -- the only epitaph permitted by the war authorities -- tells the story [SR19170607p1]

Samuel Bannister of the 133rd, reported in May as having been killed in action.
