Building Hambleton Hall Video
Commentary
by John Cardiff In 1957, Simcoe's St. James United Church, built a new Christian Education Centre, Hambleton Hall -- and church member Harold Pond caught the whole thing on 16-millimeter film. Since then, Hambleton Hall has taken on a second roll -- that of community centre, underscoring the congregation's need to make the building wheelchair accessible. Seeking donations to its Access Fund, the congregation digitally re-mastered Harold's 36-minute film and now offers copies for sale on DVD for a $25 donation. (Each DVD comes with a $20 Canadian income tax deductible receipt.) This online video is a 3-minute promo of the DVD, Building Hambleton Hall. To support efforts to add an elevator to Hambleton Hall, order your own DVD of the entire video. DVDs are available at the church
