Miss MacEachren's Trip Abroad

The summer of 1928 left us with a vacancy on the teaching staff. Miss MacEachren, our science teacher, left us for a voyage across the ocean. She has been greatly missed by everyone but we know she has enjoyed her visit in the old countries, of which she has visited no less than six. At time of going to press we learn that she has just returned to Canada.

Miss O'Brian's Absence

As practically everybody knows, Miss O'Brian has not been with us since October on account of a serious sickness. Her presence has been missed very much, especially among the girls, as she had a keen interest in girls' sports and P.T. At this time we are hoping for her return next fall.

The gap in the staff from October to December was filled by a former high school student commonly known as "Chuck" Stuart. He was one of Simcoe High's clever grads of last year and for the time spent in the effort to help the pupils during Miss O'Brian's absence he deserves the highest credit.

Christmas brought us a new teacher, Mrs. Thomson, who is ably filling Miss O'Brian's place. We sincerely hope that she has enjoyed her stay with us.

Mr. MacVicar's Sickness

I'm sure no one missed Mr. MacVicar's presence more than the pupils who customarily made their entrance about one minute to nine. With his kindly smile he usually took piry on the poor creatures and gave them a second or two longer to remove their wraps and scatter to their classrooms to be registered, not late. After an absence of three months, we all welcome him back.
