From Raymond Canon on 7 Sep 2005: Isobel was a daughter of 
Ted Blume, a local girl, SHS grad, who returned to SHS in 
1942-43  to teach French which she did until she retired from SCS/SHS decades later. She was my Grade 10 home form teacher. 
She married during summer of 1943 and became Isobel Calhoun.

Webmaster's Comment: Isabel (Blume) Calhoun taught French 
at Simcoe Composite School from 1941 to 1973. She and 
Wendall "Cal" Calhoun had two children. After her divorce she married Latin teacher Lewin Pratt. She subsequently taught 
English in Italy before returning the Canada where she taught at Waterford District High School until retiring in 1986. She died 
19 Dec 1989 in Brantford, survived by her husband and children.
