John's sister Margaret
married Elizabeth's brother
Bartholomew. John and his younger brother George Jackson Jr. established "J.
& G. Jackson" building contractors, furniture manufacturers, and
hardware merchants in Simcoe. They re-built Simcoe's
Courthouse, St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, and private homes such as Elmhurst.
(Surviving examples of furniture this firm manufactured can be seen
at the Norfolk Historical Society in Simcoe.) John retired to his farm
"west of Simcoe" the house being at the west end of Union
Street to tend his orchards. Member, Simcoe Board of Education. He eventually sold his farm to William
P. Innes.
