St. Williams
From Our Own Correspondent

Our village has sustained a severe loss in the person of Mr. William Nevett whose spirit returned to the God who gave it on Thursday last at the ripe age of 77 years.

He had resided in South Norfolk ever since he came to this continent half a century ago and leaves a widow, a daughter of the late Major McCall, to whom the Reformer offers deepest sympathies.

Mr. Nevett was one of the founders of the Church of England in the village and to the last despite failing health took an active interest in its welfare.

In early  life he made a voyage to Calcutta, Madras, and Cape Town in an old fashioned East Indianan.

His mortal remains were interred in the Newkirk cemetery by the Rev. Arthur Shore, who preached a short, appropriate sermon from the text "Here we have no compelling city but seek one to come."
