The Late Mrs. J. Y. King

Jessie Campbell, widow of the late John Y. King, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. O. Macdonald, on Friday, May 28.

The deceased was born in the year 1854 at [Erri]chill Farm, near Aberteidy, Perthshire, Scotland. Since coming to Canada in 1880 Mr. and Mrs. King had lived in the Township of Woodhouse, until they came to Port Dover fifteen years ago.

The deceased is survived by five sons, M. James of Detroit; Robert H. of Penticton, B.C.; Sam L. of Simcoe; John C. of Woodhouse; and Edwin D. of Pontiac, Mich.; and one daughter, Mrs. C. O. Macdonald of Port Dover. An older daughter, Mrs. Walter J. Gunton of Hamilton, passed away some few years ago, and a son, Willie, died in infancy.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. K. Falls of Hamilton, and Miss Jean Campbell of Aberfeidy, the latter having arrived a month ago from Scotland to visit her sisters.

The funeral took place on Thursday, at 4 p.m. from her late residence, St. George Street, to Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe. The service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Charles Perkins of Grace United Church, Rev. D. J. Cornish and Rev. D. MacInnes.

The pall-bearers were J. H. Misner, John Walker, W. R. Shand, J. R. Waddle, Captain Robinson and Captain E. Bailey. A profusion of beautiful flowers testified to the high esteem in which the deceased was held.
