St. John's Woodhouse Anglican
Church and Churchyard Cemetery
at 883 Norfolk Street South, Simcoe, on the northeast lot at the intersection of Highway 24 and Regional Road 3
(aka St. John's Side Road, aka Red Kelly Line) about three miles south of
downtown Simcoe in the former Woodhouse Township. Photographed 20 Apr 2003 by John Cardiff Church's GPS: N 42 47.900 | W 80 17.340 -- see photo enlargement. -- also see our online St. John's Cemetery video -- also see: an aerial view screen capture of this cemetery from Google Earth. |
In April 2011 wind storms toppled
trees in several local cemeteries. Simcoe's Oakwood Cemetery and others
were temporarily closed to the public until repairs made them safe again.
The photo above shows the two biggest trees downed in St. John's Woodhouse
Cemetery. Remarkably, we saw no damage to cemetery stones. Photographed 19 May 2011 by John Cardiff. -- see photo enlargement. |
