Mr. & Mrs. Charles Mason Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mason
"Who on April 29, 1924, celebrated the golden anniversary of their wedding. Exactly fifty years ago on the third day after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Mason came to Simcoe direct from Wokingham, England. They arrived at the Air Line station on the first passenger train to run over the Air Line. Mr. Mason has been a bricklayer in Simcoe and vicinty for the past fifty years, three years of that time being spent in Port Ryerse and four years in Port Dover. Two years after his return from Port Dover he bought the brickyards on Queen Street south, where he has remained ever since. He has made brick for most of the buildings in Simcoe, including the Woolen Mill, Presbyterian Church, Melbourne House, Queen's Hotel, Curtis Market, Salvation Army Hall, and the Registry Office. He served 16 years as municipal councillor and has for 39 years been most actively identified with the Salvation Army in Simcoe."
