"The above are the officers of the Second Administrative Battalion that was stationed at Niagara Falls from November 1864 to April 1865, and to which Simcoe contributed a company.  The commissioned officers from Simcoe who appear above are 
Capt. David Tisdale, later Colonel the Hon. David Tisdale (extreme left standing), 
Lieut. Charles Matheson (extreme right, sitting), Ensign D. Walker, later Judge Walker of Winnipeg (third from left, standing).  The complete list of names, so far as they can be identified are: In the centre, seated on chairs, left to right: Major Stephen, Lieut.-Col. W. S. Durie (Q.C.), Lieut. F. E. Dixon (Adjutant). On the ground, left to right: Captain J. W. Brown, Ensign W. Corbould, Lieut. W. D. Otter (later, Major-General Sir William Otter), Lieut. W. D. Jarvis, Lieut. Frank Moberley, Lieut. J. W. Johnston, Lieut. Charles Matheson. Standing, left to right: Capt. D. Tisdale, Capt. Wallace, Ensign D. Walker, Lieut. George Scale, Capt. C. T.
