Census: Leta, born 24 Apr 1893, was a daughter From Paul Billo: My grandmother, Leita Mary Nicholson, was born 24 Apr 1893 in Walpole Township, Haldimand County, a daughter of Thomas Nicholson (1841-1894) and Lydia C. Hitchcock (1854-1912). Leita married GTR section foreman Jacob Billo (1890-1954) on 5 May 1914 in Toronto. They moved from LaSalette to Stratford in 1928, where he became Road Master. Jacob and Leita had six children: five born in LaSalette, one born in Stratford, where Leita died 12 Nov 1984. (She used both Leta and Leita as name spellings over the years.) |
