After defeating
Hagersville, Stamford and New Hamburg, the Sailors met Elmira in
Provincial semi-finals.
From the 13 Mar 1947 Simcoe
Reformer:
"Lowe paces Sailors to 6-3 win over Elmira -- Port Dover centre
collects 5 goals." From
the 24 Mar 1947 Simcoe Reformer:
"The Port Dover Sailors have just completed another highly successful
season in the Juvenile "C" series of the O.M.H.A. Unfortunately,
for the second year in a row, they have lost out in the Provincial finals
to the Powassan Lions. Although they tied the Northern boys seven-all in
Brantford, they lost the round by 16-14. The Sailors proved to be grand
losers and are to be congratulated on their excellent showing." |
