the 21 Aug 1933 Simcoe
Reformer:
"British Knit girls took
an interesting softball game from a Brantford team here on Monday night to
a score of 20 to 11 -- Behind the good pitching of Ruth Walsh, the
girls showed considerable hitting strength." From
the 7 Sep 1933 Simcoe Reformer:
"British Knit girls did
well in Tourney -- The British Knit Girls participated in the Labour Day
Softball Tourney held at Dundas and made a good showing, going through to
the semi-finals against strong opposition and being eliminated by a team
which were runners-up to the Ontario Championships ... In the initial game,
the Brit girls defeated Caledonia by a close score of 11 to 10 ...
The second game was a walkaway for the Simcoe representatives which downed
Burlington 20 tp 10 ... In the semi-final game, the Dundas team took the
local nine by a 19-6 score."
