Ten years before the Simcoe Stars were winning everything in sight, a team of local girls sponsored by the British Knitwear in Simcoe, were doing much the same thing in their own league.

From the 1 Aug 1931 Simcoe Reformer:
"British Knit Girls Softball Team reached their league engagements last evening undefeated, defeating St. George girls 21-17 ... Three homers in the game all came to British Knit, two by Ruth Walsh and one for Beth Cleaver."

And from an undated Simcoe Reformer clipping:
"The British Knit Grils Softball Team of Simcoe have a real reason to be proud of their record. This season they have played 21 games and won 17. In the Brant League they have not lost a game. The four losses chalked up against them being all exhibition games. The team has piled up a run record of 326 (and 231 runs against) and 38 home runs have been poled out."
