From the 9 Mar 1911 Simcoe
Reformer:
"The Town League Champions Decided ... The
Lynnwoods get off with the medals ... Hats off to The Lynnwoods, the Town
League champs for 1911. They won the title when they defeated the
High School seven in the final game by a score of 6-4. This
event decided probably one of the closest and hardest fought town league
schedules ever pulled off any place."
On 31 Jul 2012 we received email from Amber
Brown Lee of Paris, Ontario saying: the goalie in this photo is her
great-grandfather, James Dudley Brown, born 1891 in Simcoe, son of James
Brown of Stanley Street, Simcoe, livery owner. |
