student Herb Carter Identified by W.B., Christie & friends Confirmed 14 Nov 2005 by Marion (Westcott) Dawley From Simcoe Reformer: Herb Carter, 88, of Simcoe died 12 Oct 2011 in Simcoe. A second generation owner/operator of Carter’s Men’s Wear in Simcoe for over 50 years, he was past president of Kinsmen Club, served 25 years on the Public Utilities Commission, was a former board member of Ontario Municipal Electric Association and Norfolk General Hospital, member of Norfolk Golf and Country Club, former member Simcoe Curling Club. Herb served with R.C.A.F. (1943-1945) and was member of 69 Battery Officers’ and Senior NCOs’ Mess. Survived by his second wife, three children, two stepchildren, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and two sisters. Predeceased by his parents Percy and Juliet Carter, his first wife, a brother and four sisters. Interment: Oakwood Cemetery. |
