student: Jack Maytham Identified on the back of the photo and Wayne Long The only child of John Maytham and
Minnie Connery, John Edward "Jack" Maytham graduated University
of Michigan a marine engineer and naval architect. He founded Maytham Boat
Works in Port Dover after World War II, sold it in 1963, then designed
boats like Niagara's Maid of the Mist cruise ships for another decade.
Jack was president of Port Dover Lions Club 1960-61 and chairman of Lions
International in 1965. He served on Port Dover Town Council, Norfolk
County Council and later City of Nanticoke Council. Jack and his wife
Sally had two sons. |
