James
had the stage coach line between Simcoe and Paris, where he met and
married Isabella. They settled in Simcoe where he conducted a livery
business for many years. Retiring relatively young, he was
subsequently a liquor inspector until the passing of the Scott Act.
Late in life James and Isabella lived with their daughter Edith and
her family in Montreal. After Isabella died, James lived his final
years with his daughter Jean and her family.
Daughter Mary died while visiting Simcoe to attend her sister
Edith's wedding. |
