Elizabeth Ann Forster's parents came to Canada and eventually Norfolk County with her mother's uncle, George Jackson, in 1834. John was a blacksmith in Jarvis, just east of Norfolk County, when he married Elizabeth. They lived in Jarvis in 1885 then moved to London, Ontario where he conducted a carriage shop until 1900. John and Elizabeth retired to her father's farm, by then owned by her sisters and their son Robert. After Elizabeth died John lived with his son George Edward on his family at Tyrrell.
