Augustus Root ("Gus") McKnight (1868-1952) was 1912 Reeve of Windham Township.
The 9th child of James McKnight and Sarah Wray of Windham, he
married Alice M. (1877-1942), daughter of Stephen Glynn of Windham in
1893. They had five children. Gus, Alice, and their single daughters Lena and Edith
(1894-1919) lived at R. R. 2, Vanessa in 1919, where they farmed Lot 17,
Concession 5, Windham. Augustus, Alice and Edith are buried together in
Windham Centre Cemetery.
