The following is an edited transcription of an obituary in the 28 May 1914 Saginaw News of Saginaw, Michigan, contributed 26 Aug 2003 by Donna-Rae Prong of Hamilton, Ontario, who wrote: "Jane Potts, daughter of Nelson Potts and Mary Ann Messacar, married Isaac Wilson, son of William Wilson and Joanna Crane, in Norfolk County, and died 27 May 1914 in Saginaw." 
 

Mrs. Isaac Wilson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. Whitsell, 800 Clark street, Wednesday evening at 11:30 of a complication of diseases at  the age of 69 years. 

Jane Potts was born in Delhi, Canada, June 24, 1848 and May 15, 1864 was married to Isaac Wilson. In 1867 they came to Michigan and resided on a farm in Brant township. Two years ago they came to Saginaw, living with their daughter. 

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Wm. Wilson of Camith, Idaho, Esau [sic, Isaac] Wilson, Pacific Grove, Cal., five daughters, Mrs. John Kenson [sic, Hanson], Saginaw; Mrs. Jacob [sic, John] Vincent, Chapin; Mrs. Mate Van Wagoner, Saginaw; Mrs. J. D. [sic, G. D.] Boswell, St. Charles; Mrs. L. Whitsall (sic), at whose home she died; two sisters, Louisa Hetburn, Oregon; Sarah Mathews, Canada; one brother, Lewis Potts, Canada; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

Private funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. Whitsell. Rev. G. H. Curts officiating. Burial in Forest Lawn.
