20 Jan 1888 at Woodhouse Township, Norfolk County
son of Hugh Beaty1,2 and Mary Elizabeth Snyder [sic]
Grew Up: on the family farm, Lot 13, Concession 6, Woodhouse Township, now Renton.3 
Attended: Wiggins School and graduated high school about 1905 
Married: Annie Gertrude Ellison, 10 Nov 1910 in Hamilton, Ontario
Occupation: Joined the Toronto Police Force 19 Apr 1909. Retired 1 Jan 1943. 
Death:  18 Oct 1955 at Toronto, Ontario
Children :  Hugh James Beaty (my dad) 1911; 
Harry (Jack)1914; 
Elaine Mary Browne (Beaty) 1915
Robert Ellison Beaty 1918 
David Bruce Beaty 1923
 
1 Hugh Beaty was born 14 Feb 1845 in Belfast, Ireland and was an infant when he arrived in Canada. He lived and farmed his whole life in Norfolk County. Hugh Beaty died 27 Jan 1913 and is buried in Oakland [sic] Cemetery, Simcoe.  
2 The Beaty family left Ireland in 1845 (according to Hugh's comments in the 1911 Census) and settled in Townsend Township on concession 14 and 15. They appeared in the 1851 census of Townsend South page 95 with their name spelled Baity or Batey.
3 Harry's brother Bruce Beaty and his wife Ida were murdered at their Renton gas station in Feb 1954. Their killer was the last person executed at the Norfolk County jail.
