Died at Hagersville

Mr. John Hamilton Smith died at Hagersville on Friday, 16 Dec 1921, after an illness of nearly three years with diabetes. He was confined to his bed about a month.

Mr. Smith was born in Simcoe and after learning the blacksmith trade, he worked at Bloomsburg and also at the Lutes Carriage Works at Lutesville.

Forty-five years ago he moved to Townsend Centre, where he lived until last July, when he moved to Hagersville. He was a member of the Villa Nova Baptist Church for 45 years and a deacon and S.S. Superintendent at Townsend Centre Church.

A widow, two sons and one daughter survive. They are Edgar of Hagersville, Clendon of Toronto, and Mrs. Noble of Chicago. The remains were brought here for interment on Monday morning and many old friends of the family in this section attended.
