Death of Former Simcoe Girl

Mrs. Levi N. Smith died in Hillsdale, Michigan, on the 3rd inst. The remains were brought to Simcoe and interred in the family plot in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Simcoe, her maiden name being Miss Carrie A. Moore. She was the second daughter of the late Robert Moore, a one-time well known merchant of Simcoe. She married and went to Michigan to live something over 30 years ago.

Her aged mother, who lives here on West Street, an elder sister, Miss Theresa Moore, and a brother, survive.

In her girlhood she was one of the town's most attractive belles, charming in person and manner and popular with her associates. Latterly she was not fortunate in her health and finally fell a victim to the White Plague. The Simcoe High School class of  1877-8 grows woefully smaller.

Pallbearers were H. A. Carter, Geo. Lea, O. A. Hanselman, E. Matthews, H. R. Crabb and W. A. Skinner.
