The Late Mrs. Rice

Mrs. James Rice died Tuesday night of last week. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Mauthe of Rhineland, and was at the home of her parents' when she passed away. Mrs. Rice was only 21 years of age and leaves a husband and two children.

She had many true friends in this community and perhaps even more especially in Rhineland, where everyone knew her and and had long since learned to appreciate her as a girl of beautiful character.

Before her marriage to Mr. Rice, when she moved to Corinth, she took an active part in the school work and was looked upon as a most valuable member.

This seems to be one of the saddest deaths we have been called upon to chronicle for many months, when we think of how young she was, and the bright happy future that lay before her.

She was the only girl  among five brothers, and, she leaves them the memory of a loving sister.

Mr. Rice's friends are in deepest sympathy with him and his two little children in their saddest hour.

The funeral took place on Friday and interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery, after which service was held in the church. The funeral was largely attended.
