Again the grim reaper, death, has visited our community and taken one of our oldest residents in the person Thomas Mater.

Mr. Mater was about his usual work on Tuesday morning, when he was taken ill, and although everything possible was done him he passed away on Wednesday morning.

Heart trouble was the cause. The funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at the home, conducted by Rev. Mr. Clark of Walsh. Interment took place in the Jericho cemetery.

The late Mr. Mater was a man of genial disposition and a kindly neighbor, who will be missed in the community.

He leaves to mourn his loss, besides the sorrowing widow, five sons and and two brothers.

Those who came from a distance to attend the funeral were his sons, Squire of Toronto, George  and his wife from Michigan, his brother Mr. and Mrs. John Mater and daughter of Michigan.
