Speeding
Motorist kills Kitchener cyclist
Stanley Kramer, a citizen of
Kitchener, was instantly killed on the night of 12 Apr 1921 while
cycling quietly home after visiting friends.
He had almost reached home
when a motor car came along travelling at a tremendous rate of
speed, and struck Kramer, hurling him about 70 feet to a
sidewalk.
The reckless mortorist
switched out his lights, and putting on increased speed, disappeared
before anyone could get his number or a description of the car.
Examination of the deceased
showed that he had suffered a facture of the back of his head, a
scalp wound, a skull fracture, broken nose and a cut eyelid. When
picked up, he was bleeding at the ears.
The deceased was born in
Norfolk County, near Delhi, 22 years ago. He leaves to mourn his
loss, his father, C. W. Kramer of Delhi, two sisters and two half
sisters and four brothers.
The sisters are Nellie and
Ada of Delhi; the half sisters are Mrs. Beatrice Bowerman of Windham
Centre and Mrs. Sadie Countryman of Port Rowan; the surviving
brothers are Lorne and Verne of Delhi, and Charles and Bruce of
Ktchener.
