Masonic Honors
to T. R. Atkinson

Simcoe, 15 Dec 1921 -- The funeral of the late Lieut.-Col. T. R. Atkinson, who died on Sunday, was held from his late residence yesterday afternoon under Masonic auspices.

Political friends and opponents joined in paying their last tribute of respect an honor to a long life spent amongst them, which at all times measured well to standard.

Besides those who attended the service at the house there were many out along the street for blocks in recognition of their concern for the unexpected departure of one who had identified himself so full with so many public enterprises.

The bearers were: John Porter, R. E. Gunton, Frank Reid, Joseph Church, W. J. Schuyler and Chas. Misner.

The late T. R. Atkinson had an estate, it is said, running well into six figures, and it is hinted that generally expected that considerable of it has been left to charitable purposes.

The mid-day recess of the sitting of the county court was extended yesterday until 3 o'clock in order to allow members of the bar and others in attendance to attend the funeral.
