Young-Duffin

A very pretty wedding took place in Crumlin, Ont., on Wednesday, 15 Jun 1921, at the home of the bride's parents, when Miss Hazel Louise Duffin, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Duffin, was united in marriage to Mr. Winfred Lavell Young of London, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Young of Wilsonville. The ceremony was performed before a bank of ferns, sweet peas and peonies, Rev. Mr. Thompson officiating.

Promptly at four o'clock the bride, looking very charming in a wedding gown of white crepe de chene and carrying a shower bouquet of Ophelia roses and orange blossoms entered the drawing room leaning on the arm of her father, to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march, rendered by Mr. Maunsell Young, brother of the groom. Miss Mildred Young, sister of the groom, who made a dainty bridesmaid, was becomingly  gowned in white and pink and carried a bouquet of pink roses. The groom was attended by Mr. Charles Duffin, brother of the bride.

After the ceremony and signing of the register the guests, numbering about 40, repaired to the dining room, where a dainty wedding breakfast was served. The groom's gift to the bride was a beautiful L'Oient pearl necklace, to the bridesmaid a pearl crescent brooch, to the groomsman a pearl tie pin and to the pianist gold cuff links.

The wedding gifts were numerous and beautiful including several checks, also a beautiful reading lamp presented by the members of the Crumlin church. Mr. and Mrs. Young motored to Woodstock where they took the 8.19 train for Detroit, the bride travelling in a navy blue serge suit with hat to match. Upon their return Mr. and Mrs. Young will reside at 26 Beattie Ave., London, Ont.
