Funeral of Mrs. I. E. York

The funeral of Mrs. I. E. York was held from her late residence on Friday afternoon when a large concourse of friends gathered to pay the last respects to one who was held in the highest esteem in the entire community. The services were conducted by Rev. J. D. MacLachlan, pastor of the Baptist Church, of which Mrs. York had long been an active and most faithful member.

The pastor paid tribute to the life of service in the home, community and church, where Mrs. York's loving, wise and gracious ministry will be greatly missed. Such a spirit of unselfish service cannot die with the passing of the body, but lives on in ministry.

Wonderful flowers told of the affection of many friends  and surrounded by these, the remains were borne to the York Museleum in Greenwood Cemetery and placed beside her son, Dr. Howard, who predeceased her some four years ago.

Assisting at the service were Revs. J. B. Moore, Ward and Rickard. A quartette sang unaccompanied 'Sleep thy last sleep' and Mr. T. C. Savage sang impressively 'No Night There.' The bearers were Messrs. Gordon Duncombe, Harold Squire, H. A. Sanderson, L. E. Kidder, D. A. Hill and Dr. McGuire.
