Somers-Wilson

The home of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Wilson, "Sprucevale" Wilsonville was the scene of a very pretty wedding on
1 Jan 1921, when their second daughter Clara E.
became the bride of Dalton W., son of William Somers
of Rockford. The ceremony was conducted by Rev.
R. H. Rogers under an arch of evergreens behind which was a solid bank of evergreens all trimmed with white carnations.

The bride wore white georgette over silk with pearl trimming and customary bridal veil also trimmed with pearl, carried white carnations, and was given away by her father. Miss Lella Somers, sister of the groom, wearing apricot georgette over silk trimmed with crystal beads and carrying pink carnations, attended the bride.
Bruce Wilson, brother of the bride, supported the groom.

Little Aileen Honey gowned in pale pink silk with silver lace trimming and bridal veil was flower girl. Miss Roma Wilson, sister of the bride, played Lohengrin's Wedding March. Miss Lena Hall sang most beautifully "All Joy Be Thine" while the register was being signed.

The groom's gift to the bride was a silver tea set, to the bridesmaid a necklace set with pearls, to the groomsman a tie pin, to the flower girl a ring, and to the pianist and soloist, emerald and pearl pins.

After congratulations and a wedding dinner which was partaken of by about 50 guests, the happy couple had to hurry away to catch the 3:45 train for the west where they will spend their honeymoon visiting Detroit, Chicago and Milwaukee.

Among the many handsome presents might be mentioned addresses and presents to the bride from the Sunday School, from the choir, from her teacher training class, and the Mission Band, expressing their appreciation of her services. They have our best wishes for future usefulness and happiness.
