Slaght-Wilcox

Grande View Farm, the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Wilcox of Hartford, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday, 15 Jun 1921, when their only daughter, Maude Alice, was united in the Holy Bonds of matrimony to Harry Lloyd Slaght of Scotland.

Sharply at two o'clock, to the strains of Mendelssohn's wedding march played by Mr. Parkes of Jarvis, the bride and groom entered unattended and stood beneath a natural arch of dropping ivy. The bride looked very charming in a gown of white georgette over white talleta with veil and orange blossoms, carrying a shower boquet of white roses.

After the ceremony which was performed by Rev. G. P. Near of Hartford, the guests proceeded to the dining room where a dainty luncheon was served. The bride and groom motored to Waterford and then took the afternoon train for Detroit and points west., the bride wearing a very becoming blue serge travelling suit and blue georgette hat.

The many beautiful gifts manifested the high esteem in which the young couple are held by their many friends. Upon their return Mr. and Mrs. Slaght will be at home to their friends at Bonny Place, Scotland, Ont.
