Slaght-Flenelling
A pretty wedding was
solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Flenelling in
Wellandport, 17 Aug 1910, when their daughter, Stella Maud, was
married to Fred Slaght.
The impressive ceremony was
performed by the Rev. Mr. Webb of Wellandport in the presence of a
number of relatives and friends. The bride wore a beautiful gown of
white silk mull and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and
lily-of-the-valley.
Following the ceremony
congratulations were in order and the guests to the number of 50
were ushered into the dining hall, where elaborate refreshments were
served.
The bride was the recipient
of many beautiful and useful gifts, among those being a pearl
sunburst from the groom, also a beautiful cut glass bowl from the
Methodist Sunday School, of which the bride took an active part. The
groom presented the pianist with a dainty watch fob.

Following the luncheon the
newlyweds departed to Fenwick station, T.H.&B., on their way to
Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Toronto, from there by boat through the
Thousand Islands to Montreal, visiting all points of interest,
returning to Waterford and various point in the West.
