Slaght-Beaton

A very pretty wedding was solemnized on Wednesday, 6 Apr 1921 at the home of Mr. And Mrs. Henry Beaton of Bookton, when their daughter Beatrice was united in marriage to Alex Slaght of Windham. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. Ottewell.

At 12 o'clock in the presence of the immediate relatives, the bridal couple, who were unattended, took their place under an arch of evergreens and flowers. The bride was gowned in ivory georgette over ivory satin and carried a bouquet of maiden hair fern and cream roses.

After the ceremony the guests repaired to the dining room. The gifts to the young couple were numerous and included a valuable check from the bride's father. Mr. and Mrs. Slaght left for a short wedding trip to Hamilton and St. Catharines, the bride travelling in a navy blue serge suit with hat to match. On their return they will take reside on the groom's farm near LaSalette.
