PARTRIDGE-
ROHDE
The home of Mr. and Mrs.
August Rohde of Delhi was the scene of a pretty wedding on
Wednesday, 15 Sep 1920, when their second daughter, Clara, became
the bride of Harry F. Partridge, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos.
Partridge of Walsh.
The house was beautifully
decorated with asters, gladioli and sweet peas. The ceremony was
performed in front of a bank of flowers and under an arch of
evergreens, artistically entwined with white asters and white
ribbon. Rev. Mr. Huegh of Rhineland officiated.
At the appointed time the
bridal party entered the parlor, the bride leaning on the arm of
her father who gave her away. The bride looked charmingly sweet in
a lovely gown of sheerest organdie with tulle and flower
trimmings, and carried a shower bouquet of white carnations and
fern.
The bridesmaid, Miss Anna
Rohde, sister of the bride, wore a pretty white dress and carried
a bouquet of white and pink asters and sweet peas. The groom was
supported by his brother, Albert Partridge of Walsh.
After the usual
congratulations and good wishes the young couple led the way to
the dining room where luncheon was served by six of the bride's
young friends. The groom's gift to the bride was a gold necklace
set with pearls, to the bridesmaid a broach and to the best man
gold cuff links.
Mr. and Mrs. Partridge
left Delhi amid showers of confetti on the 1.49 Wabash for
Buffalo. On their return they will reside in Detroit.
Among the guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Thos. Partridge and family, parents of the groom; Mr. and
Mrs. W. Partridge, eldest brother of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. W. E.
Partridge of Curries Crossing; Miss Heugh of Detroit;
Mr. J. Dworek [sic] of Buffalo, uncle of the
bride;
Mr. and Mrs. Unverzagt; Miss Heron of Courtland.
The presents were numerous
and costly, showing the high esteem in which the young people are
held. Their numerous friends join in wishing them a happy and
prosperous married life.
