The home of Mr. and Mrs. George Pitman of Port Rowan was the
scene of a happy event on 2 Mar 1910, when their youngest
daughter, Miss May Pitman, became the bride of Mr. Mack S.
Clemens, son of Mr. John Clemens, also of Port Rowan.
The ceremony took place at 8 p.m., the bride and groom standing
under an arch of evergreens in the tastily decorated parlor. The
Rev. W. H. Garnham officiated. The wedding march was played by
Miss Minnie Pitman, niece of the bride.
The bride was charmingly attired in a dress of blue silk, and
was the recipient of a large number of beautiful and useful
presents.
The bride and groom are highly respected residents of the
village, and are the possessors of those sterling qualities where,
we are confident, will with the [one line of
type unreadable] success in the coming years. They will
reside on the W. Dedrick farm in the western part of the village.
The guests included the following:
Mr. and Mrs. John Clemens Sr., Miss Myrtle Clemens,
Miss Clara Clemens of Buffalo,
Mr. and Mrs. George Clemens and family,
Mr. and Mrs. A. Brown and family,
Mr. and Mrs. John Clemens Jr. and family,
Mr. and Mrs. A. Pitman and Miss M. Pitman,
Mr. and Mrs. W. Biddle,
Mr. and Mrs. F. Evans, Master Evans,
Mr. and Mrs. Mussel and family,
Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Pratt and daughter of Madison, Wis.,
Mr. Jenkins of Buffalo.
A sumptuous and daintily served wedding repast followed the
ceremony and a very enjoyable social time was experienced by all.
