It is with regret that we
record the death of one of our oldest citizens in the person of Mr.
A. Mercel Sr. on Saturday night last. Mr. Mercel has lived in this
vicinity many years and was one of the most highly respected men in
the place. The funeral took place on Tuesday to Vanessa.
This is the second of our
oldest residents to pass away within the last week. Only one week
ago last Tuesday, James McKnight was buried, and in the the death of
these two the Presbyterian church in this place loses two of its
most devoted members.
