A lightly edited transcription of a page 1 article in the 17 Nov 1921 Waterford Star newspaper.

Returns here as official on M.C.R.

St. Thomas Times -- F. W. Cowley, Michigan Central Railroad passenger conductor and veteran railroad man, of Detroit, has been appointed assistant trainmaster of the Canadian division, with headquarters at St. Thomas.

Mr. Cowley was for years a conductor here, later being trainmaster, and for a year was division superintendent. He resigned that post to return to the passenger service, residing in Detroit.

The increased work connected with this department is given as the reason for the appointment. Frank McElroy has been overworked and the naming of an assistant was deemed necessary.

Mr. and Mrs. Cowley arrived home a couple of months ago from a trip to the old country and a tour of Europe.

(Mr. and Mrs. Cowley are well-known in Waterford, Mrs. Cowley being a daughter of the late David Leach.)
