Evans-Howell

A pretty wedding was solemnized on Wed., 20 Jun 1900, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Howell, when their youngest daughter, Miss Clara, was united in marriage to Mr. George Albert Evans, Phm.B., of Toronto. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Chas. [Duncan], Ph.EB, in the presence of about 50 guests.

The house was beautifully decorated with roses and ferns. At 2 o'clock the bridal party entered the drawing room to the strains of the Lohengrin bridal march played by Miss Abbie Beemer.

The bride wore a handsome gown of white and carried white roses. She was attended by Miss Nellie Porter of Brantford, and Miss Gladys Serles was a very dainty little maid of honor. Master Hubert Evans of Galt acted as page and the best man was Mr. Hancock, B.A. of Galt.

After the ceremony the wedding supper was served. Mr. and Mrs. Evans left on the six o'clock train for their new home in Toronto, carrying with them the best wishes of a host of friends.

Among the many and beautiful gifts to the bride was an exquisite table inlaid with mother-on-pearl; the gift of Dr. Chamberlain of Toronto. Guests were present from Brantford, Hamilton, Galt, London and Toronto.

Mrs. Evans will be much missed by her friends in Waterford.
