Brown's Corners

Mrs. Caroline Forsythe, who death occurred at the home of her nephew, John Dennis in Simcoe on 17 Dec 1920 was born in Charlotteville on 17 Mar 1836, and had lived nearly all her life in the village of Delhi and surrounding country.

Deceased was a daughter of the late Mark Brown and Caroline Bannister, and her first husband was David Wade of Delhi. There was one child born of this union, David, now in British Columbia. After some years of widowhood she married Gideon Forsythe of Jarvis, who predeceased her some 45 years ago.

Though at the advanced age of nearly 85 years, she led an active and useful life until quite recently, whe for the past six months she had suffered with a dropsical trouble which terminated in her death. Deceased was a member of the Church of England at Delhi, and led a kindly Christian life, which will be remembered long by those who knew and loved her.

Besides her son David of British Columbia, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Deverell of Winnipeg, and two step-brothers, William and Stephen of Charlotteville.

The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. D. A. Moir of St. James Church, Simcoe, at the residence of her nephew, John Dennis, and interment took place in Delhi Cemetery on Sunday afternoon at  one o'clock.
