A lightly edited partial transcript of the Port Rown column on page 5 of the 9 Jun 1910 issue of the Simcoe Reformer. The entire obituary in the source document was  difficult to read, transcribe. 

PORT ROWAN

Died, on 5 Jun 1910, at his home in the village after a lingering and painful sickness from a [rost] cancer, Mr. Henry C. Ellis, in his 64th year.

The deceased was up till the time of his last affliction, one of our most prominent citizens, and held the position of baliff of the 6th Division Court for a number of years.

Mr. Ellis was the son of the late Cornwall Ellis and was born in this village. He was the youngest of a family of 1[.] children, all of whom, with one exception has predeceased him. [About] three years ago he married Miss Nellie White of Clear Creek, who with one sister, Catharine, Mrs. Rushton of Garnett, survives him and live to mourn his loss.

The funeral was held on Saturday from his late residence, interment being made in Bay View [sic] Cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Brown officiated.
