Items of Local Interest

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew McKnight, 160 King Street, announce the engagement of their second daughter, Ray, to Mr. George Edward Whittaker of Hamilton. The marriage to take about the end of August.

The funeral of Mary Taylor, wife of John Vrooman, who died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Brant Bowyer in Townsend on Friday, 13 Aug 1920 in her 61st year, was held on Sunday, 15 Aug at three o'clock, from her late residence, North Ward, Simcoe, to Oakwood Cemetery.

A quiet wedding took place Tuesday, 10 Aug 1920 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clouse, Simcoe, when her sister, Mrs. Erie Perram, and Mr. George Knowles of Lynnville were united in marriage, Rev. William Waldon of Colborne officiating.

The following relatives wer present: 
Mrs. Clouse and daughter Myrtle, and her cousin from Windsor, and Mr. Knowles' three sons, Graydon, Noel and Tom.

After a dainty luncheon had been served, the happy couple left by Grand Trunk train for a trip to Michigan, Mr. Knowles' youngest son, Tom, accompanying them. They will be absent for two weeks.
