The Big
Reunion at Teeterville
About 5,000 attended the big
Teeterville reunion held on the flats of Big Creek, in the grove of
William Bartholomew last Thursday [18 Aug 1921].
They came from early morning and stayed till almost midnight, about
1,500 remaining for the concert in the evening.
Tables were dotted over two
acres of the delightful grove. The Waterford brass band provided
music from 10 a.m. until lights out. The stage and vicinity was
illuminated by electric light for the evening. Four big stoves were
going continuously, providing hot water.
A bus brought in those from
a distance who arrived at Windham Centre by rail. Other contingents
detrained at Norwich, Delhi, Brantford, Scotland, Vanessa, Waterford
and Simcoe. Some of the old boys and girls had been absent almost 50
years.
The committee in charge left
nothing undone, even providing hay for the horses. Automobiles were
parked under supervision, and there were seven county constables
about the place.
