Port Dover

The annual reunion of former pupils of S.S. No. 12 Woodhouse (Shand's) School, took place in the schoolhouse on Labor Day. This gathering takes place each year to express the section's gratitude to Mrs. Dorothy Smith (Aunt Dolly), for her 18 years splendid service as teacher of the school.

Former pupils from a distance included:
Robert Stringer of Bay City
Walker Stringer of St. Thomas
Dr. Chrysler of Simcoe
Miss Shand and Mrs. Moore of Hamilton
Mrs. Overbaugh of Carholme
Mrs. Staley and Mrs. Curtis of Norwich
Mrs. B. Lade of Buffalo, and
Mr. E. Kitchen of Delhi.

Mrs. George Patterson of California sent a poem expressing the esteem of her former pupils for Aunt Dolly.

The gathering of about 100 repaired to the basement where a splendid dinner waited. 

After the repast, the chairman Mr. William Donald called on Mr. S. L. Butler to call the roll. Addresses were given by Messrs. R. and W. Stringer, S. McPherson, E. Kitchen, E. P. Bagley, Rev. J. Robertson, and a former teacher of the school, W. H. Smith.
