A lightly edited partial transcription of the Items of Local Interest column on page 1 of the 
21 Aug 1919 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper. 
(Cynthia's first husband was Alfred B. Anderson.)

Cynthia Winter, second wife of Mr. Newton Challen, died on Monday, 18 Aug 1919, at the residence, 113 Norfolk Street south, after a lingering illness from the effects of a stroke.

The deceased was in her 62nd year.

The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock to Oakwood Cemetery, the Rev. H. C Newcombe conducting the services. The pallbearers were R. E. Gunton, 
M. C. Beaupre, H. Crabb, J. H. Butler, 
R. Johnson and D. B. Wallace.

Two daughters and one son survive: 
Mrs. Fred Beaupre of Simcoe, 
Mrs. R. McClaren of Vancouver, and 
Arthur Anderson of British Columbia. 

Robert and Manual Winter of Renton are brothers.
